Pregame January 12

From the Coach:

Tuesday night will be an exciting game between the two teams. Hvidovre has been playing good hockey lately, but not being rewarded in the points department. They have lost the past 3 games, all 1 goal games and two in overtime. It is no secret that we are directly above them in the standings, and we have a few games at hand, so we expect to see a team willing to play with an extra sense of desperation on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, we are coming off a great 2 point victory in our last game. It was a total team effort, with great goaltending, a good defensive effort, and positive special teams play. It will be important to duplicate this performance on Tuesday against Hvidovre. The last time we faced them was in their building, a 4-0 shutout victory, where we played a solid defensive game. They have had a coaching change since that game so it will be interesting to see how much they have changed their style of play in that time.

As mentioned Hvidovre has been playing well, and will have added incentive to perform their best against us on Tuesday. They have shown they have certain strengths & the ability to do the following:

1) Play even with the opposition & force into a tight 1 goal game
2) Create opportunities off Turnovers at their blue line
3) Rely on Veteran defensemen to lead the team

They are led by some key players that we need to give special attention:

Sundberg: consistent scorer year after year in the Danish League: power forward player who will take the puck to the net

Madsen: has played every game for Hvidovre and gives them a chance to win each game

Steiner: successful player in the league in the past – off to a slow start this season, and we need to take caution it is not against us he gets hot.

Bulldogs Keys for Success:

In order to have success against Hvidovre there are some areas we múst give special focus:

1) Smart Decisions in the Neutral Zone as we enter the Offensive Zone
2) Nothing for Free: no risk plays that result in breakaways or 2 on 1’s against us
3) Get players to the net for rebounds, as their goalie is good at directing pucks away from the goal scoring areas

As far as injuries, we are getting closer to having Alexander Hansson back in the lineup, as he has worked very hard the past months to prepare himself physically and mentally to play at the elite level once again, where the speed and strength of the players is high. He brings energy and a physical presence to the team, so we look forward to his return sometime this month.

We expect an exciting game and loud crowd at the game on Tuesday. It is important game for both teams, and we will be expecting Hvidovre to come at us hard. The motivation for our club is to climb higher in the standings, and then take advantage of the games at hand versus the other clubs later in the month. First and foremost we must attend to a highly motivated Hvidovre squad who we have respect for, and will need to be well prepared.

Fantasy Game 2010

The Fantasy Game will take place February 12, and we are very excited to make this offer between the Loyal Supporters of Odense Bulldogs Hockey and the Team. Last season we had a great time meeting the participants and having a great Day of Hockey from the morning skate, to the actual Game, and the Post Game Party. This year we want to take things a step further and not only have a great day for the Participants of the Game, but also a Celebration Evening for the supporters and fans in attendance as well. Our goal is to have 500 friends, family, and fans cheering on the Fantasy Bulldogs in their big game. There will be all kinds of activities and promotions for the fans in attendance including the following:

- Skate with the Bulldogs after the Game where all in attendance will be invited to lace up their skates and come on the ice to skate and have photos taken with their favourite Bulldogs Players and Fantasy Bulldogs Players.

- Special Raffles – Promotions – Auctions; for Jerseys and other special items.

- Special Food and Drink Offers

- Post Game Party: to meet the players and close the evening with a great event for all
